Add soft colour and feathery texture to shady garden spaces with this beautiful pink Astilbe. Its upright plumes of tiny pink flowers rise above deeply divided green foliage, creating an elegant display through summer.

Astilbes thrive in moist, fertile soil and are particularly useful for brightening partially shaded borders, woodland-style gardens and areas beside ponds or streams. They can also be grown in patio pots, provided the compost is kept consistently moist.

Plant in partial or dappled shade for the easiest care. It can tolerate more sunlight where the soil remains damp, but the foliage may scorch if the plant becomes hot and dry. Water regularly, especially during warm weather, and avoid allowing the soil to dry out completely.

This hardy perennial dies back over winter before producing fresh growth again in spring.
